Celine Dion is a powerhouse as far as music goes. She has hit songs, a featured theme song in the blockbuster movie Titanic, and a successful Las Vegas residency where she has reached people from all over the world who visited and watched her perform.
Celine has often said her success was because of her husband, who sadly passed away in January of 2016. René Angélil lost his battle with cancer. Sadly, Celine’s older brother also passed away from the same fate.
What a horrible year for Celine. But she emerged in September for a performance on “Stand Up To Cancer.”
“Recovering” is the new single she debuted, and naturally it was a tribute to her husband, brother, and father. All of whom had died from cancer.
The song was actually written by Pink. She offered it up to Celine, and indeed it was very fitting for her to perform.
“I miss René every day and the loss will now be a part of my life.”
That is how she started the performance. Check out this powerful video. At the end Celine’s husband comes on screen, as well as her brother and father. She is then overcome with emotion as she turns and looks at the screen.
Share this very emotional performance with all of your friends and family.
